Fate of the Vampire is the last (?) of the series of three Vanderlind Castle books. After having read and enjoyed the first two I, naturally, had to see what happened to Jesse and Aurora/Colette. This series is reminiscent of the Twilight Series, in that it involves young adults. Jesse and his family are vampires living in close proximity with "mortals". It is light and entertaining, and you just have to see how it all turns out. I read Call of the Vampire, Heart of the Vampire, and Fate of the Vampire in quick succession because I had to see what happened. This is a romance, but I appreciated the fact that it isn't one excuse after another for pornographic sex scenes. Lighter reading than Anne Rice (whom I also adore!), and without the glut of erotica (Ho Hum!) found in so many books, it is an entertaining vampire romance. I will definitely check out whatever this author offers next.Product details

I'm just a sucker (no pun intended) for a human vampire romance.This book ties the trilogy up nice and neatly just the way I like it ..no loose ends.I enjoyed it and I think you will too after reading the first two,which are equally engaging.
I love this series and I can't wait until the next book. I can tell Gayla must be an 80's child like me because of all the 80's references. I also love "Pretty in Pink", "Breakfast Club", and "Labyrinth" ) I love the ending of this story and I was hoping that would happened.
No why did the Vanderlind series have to finish just when it was getting really good,I really enjoyed the books about Jessie the vampire and his girlfriend and all the things they go threw just to be with each other,can't wait for dorains story next and hopefully it will have updates about Jessie and auroa
Aurora is selflessly sweet and wittingly funny, her inner dialogues are a hoot at times. I've fallen in love with the main characters, Aurora and Jessie and their love is much like young love is-stubborn, defiant, thrilling and oftentimes both selfish and selfless. A good read for fans of the vampire romance genre.
I wish there was more books in this series but at least we can hear a bit more about Jesse and Aurora in Dorian's story. Thank you very much Gayla for 3 very wonderful books in this series. Read this series! You won't be sorry. I love how they ended as well. Just wish there was more!
I object to the fact these books don't stand alone. You want to know what happens, you'll have to get or wait for the next book. Nope, don't like that way of selling books. I have talked to friends about this very topic, most think it is a kind of racket authors have created to sell these books more or less chapter by chapter. The 4th book in this series practically retells the first book. Good bye Vanderlind.
I choose this rating because I very much enjoyed the reading. I loved the connection that Aurora n Jesse had. I loved that aurora had lived and died as a past relative named Collette that was also in love with the vampire Jesse....the twist in the story were great . I would l d recommend this series to those who enjoy reading vampire love stories n the supernatural with a twist.....
